The Center for Croatian Traditional Instruments (CTG-HR) was founded at the beginning of 2007 and officially registered as an association on April 18, 2007. The Croatian Bagpipe Orchestra and the ethno group Vilingora are organizations within the Center.

The Center was established to promote and popularize Croatian traditional instruments, but it also deals with the reconstruction of old instruments and collects information about instruments, musicians, and the makers of traditional instruments, It also organizes exhibitions, festivals, seminars and workshops and other activities that help to popularize this very rich segment of our national tradition.

One of the first large projects of the Center was the Croatian Bagpipe Festival that was held for the first time on October 20, 2007 in Mihovljan in Croatian Zagorje. Since then, it has been held every year throughout northwestern Croatia (in Zagreb, Mihovljan, Bjelovar, Garešnica, and Đurđevac)

The found and head of the Center is Mr. Stjepan Večković.
