Mih from Herzegovina

The mih from Herzegovina, or dipla, is the most archaic type of mih. On both sides of the pipe it has an equal number of holes (6-6). Both holes in one row are covered simultaneously with one finger. The characteristic of playing on this type of mih is that the “accompaniment” to the melody and rhythm is played on the upper two or three holes and the melody is played on the other lower rows of holes. With all of the other types of mih, it is the other way around: the melody is played on the upper holes and the accompaniment on the lower ones.
